Taubman's current research interests are: (1) An analysis of the spread into education of what British anthropologists refer to as audit culture. Teaching by Numbers (2009) has won several awards. (2) The history of the relationship between psychoanalysis and education. His book Disavowed Knowledge: Psychoanalysis, Education and Teaching was published in October 2011.
