Carey Harrison's backpiece tattoo is a passage of German philosophy, in the original German. It is the opening section, "Fuer Marcel Proust" ("for Marcel Proust"), of Theodor Adorno's philosophical journal, Minima Moralia, Harrison's favorite book. He has written and sold close to 200 plays for theater, television, radio, and the screen, and published 12 novels. He feels fortunate to spend so much of his year with Brooklyn College students, the most enjoyable company of any student body he has encountered, in a teaching career that spans seven universities in the United States and his native United Kingdom. These include Cornell and the Universities of Texas at Austin, and California at San Diego. Further details may be found on his website, carey-harrison.com, and at his Wikipedia site, very kindly and efficiently put together by a Brooklyn College graduate.
