Novels ancient and modern, from Sterne to the present day; drama from Aeschylus to Mamet. Harrison speaks four languages well and has attempted to learn a total of nine. His publications include translations from French, German, Italian and, most recently, Arabic.

Publication of How To Push Through, the final novel in the quartet of novels (previously known as the Liskeard quartet) entitled The Heart Beneath, the highly praised and prize-winning (The Encore Award from the UK Society of Authors) novel-sequence, of which the opening book was long-listed for the Booker Prize. From start to finish, the quartet took 49 years to complete. Eight other novels were written and published while The Heart Beneath was being composed, including the Justice quintet of novels.
