Sass-Brown's professional specialties include the early intervention populations, with focus on behavioral feeding disorders. She works with individuals who have intact feeding systems but have difficulty eating due to sensory disruptions or behavioral circumstances. Additionally, she emphasizes the use of family based interventions which incorporate natural environments and materials are the most successful for children to learn and grow.

Community Activities
Coordinated multidisciplinary discussion groups in Tammy's Toddlers Daycare between speech pathologists, special educators, occupational therapists and physical therapists. Topics included cross-disciplinary interventions, classroom incorporations and parent/caregiver involvement. 2017
Ongoing adviser to the Pre-Literacy and Comprehension Program, a group of college students who volunteer for several hours per week in summer camps and play groups with children ages two to five. They introduce books and various language-based activities targeting emergent literacy skills in small groups of pre-schoolers. They then target future activities based on small group performances and tailor the program to each individual group. 2016
Serves as Faculty Advisor to the Communicating With Our Community Volunteer Program, a community service program for the SCAS Department's undergraduate students. The program is currently partnered with 28 local charities 2016
Volunteer work with Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue. Served as animal foster, rescuer, placement coordinator and screener for rescue dogs to be admitted to training programs for service/therapy purposes. 2014
