Her research aims to better understand the neural bases/acquisition of nonliteral language:(1) Communication of nonliteral meanings in spoken language, especially those meanings which refer to a speaker's emotions or other social intentions,(2) Effect of acquired brain damage on communication of nonliteral meanings and pragmatic skills,(3) Processing/Acquisition of nonliteral language in first and second language users
