Dorell Thomas earned master's degrees in both English Adolescent Literature, Grade 7-12 and English Literature from Hunter College (CUNY) and the University of Wisconsin, Madison (UW Madison) respectively. After starting his doctorate in the English Department at UW Madison, Dorell later earned a PhD in English Education from Columbia University. His research interests include writing workshop pedagogy, book history, and the post-colonial reach of English instruction. College Composition and Communication (CCC) awarded Dorell a 2020-2021 CCCC/TYCA Editorial Fellowship.
