On the faculty since 2003, Janet Elise Johnson has a PhD in political science from Indiana University and a BA in public policy from Duke University. During 2012-3, she was a fellow at the Harriman Institute for Russian, Eurasia, and East European Studies at Columbia University, with one month at the Aleksanteri Institute at the University of Helsinki. She is a co-coordinator of the monthly workshop on Gender and Transformation: Europe at the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies of New York University (for more information, see http://gendertransformationeurope.wordpress.com/). She teaches courses on Russia and other postcommunist societies, European politics and gender politics and policy as well as introduction to global politics.
