Chia-ju Chang has taught at several universities, including the University of Florida at Gainesville; Trinity University, Texas; and Washington and Lee University, Virginia. Her first book in Chinese, The Global Imagination of the Ecological Communities: Western and Chinese Ecocritical Praxis (Jiangsu University Press, 2013), has won the "2013 Bureau of Jiangsu Province Journalism and Publication Book Award" (Social Science division). Currently she serve as a co-editor-in-cheif for a book series on Chinese and Taiwanese Environmental Humanities (5 volumes). The first volume edited by her, entitled The Heart of the Animals: Contemporary Living Conditions of Nonhuman Animals (動物之心:當代動物生存與處境), will be out in 2015 (Chung-hsing University Press, in Chinese).
