Ginny Dembek is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, where she received a Ph.D. in Special Education with a cognate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She previously worked as a special education teacher with a range of learners in public middle and high school settings in Maryland and Pennsylvania. While teaching she saw a major gap in research examining interventions to help students with disabilities access general education content. Ginny also noticed a lack of resources to help teachers make evidenced-based decisions. Her scholarly interests include the areas of Direct Instruction, Precision Teaching, and evidenced-based instructional technologies. Her recent work examines skills required to access general education content, such as talk alouds and writing, and how to increase mastery through direct and explicit teaching along with frequency building.
