Linda Louis is an assistant professor of art education in the School of Education. Her current research focuses on the underlying intellectual and psychological processes that influence early graphic representational development in young children. Louis also has extensive experience as a K-12 art teacher. With over 20 years experience, she has taught studio art to children of all ages in a variety of educational settings in northern Vermont; Cape Cod, Mass.; and New York City. In addition to her teaching and research, she is a sought-after speaker for professional development workshops for both public and independent school teachers. Her presentations reflect her classroom experience as well as her research on the unique features of artistic learning, art materials, and artistic development.
