Stephen Chester is a biological anthropologist and paleontologist who studies the evolution of primates and other mammals. Chester is particularly interested in the origin and early evolutionary history of primates, and his research focuses on the skeletal anatomy of fossil primates that lived shortly after the extinction of the dinosaurs. He also pursues collaborative research on how mammals responded to periods of global warming in the past. Chester leads paleontological expeditions in western North America and deposits fossil specimens in four major natural history museum collections with which he is affiliated. His research is currently funded by sources such as the National Science Foundation and Leakey Foundation, and has been covered by news sources such as National Geographic, PBS NOVA and The New York Times. Chester is also a faculty member at the CUNY Graduate Center and the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology.
Education:

B.A., University of Florida - 2005 (Anthropology)
B.S., University of Florida - 2005 (Marketing)
Areas of Expertise:
