Department Requirements (12-15 credits)

Prerequisite for entry to the minor: One of the following: ANTH 1100 or ANTH 1300 or ANTH 1400 or ARTD 1010 or permission of the Minor Coordinator.
A minor consisting of 12-15 credits including a 3-credit internship in a museum or cultural organization.
Students will be required to take one museum course (either ANTH 4635 or ARTD 3180) and two electives from the list of relevant courses listed below, from at least two different departments, in addition to completing the internship. The internship must be approved by the Minor Coordinator and can be assigned the course number of the internship code in the student's major department (e.g. HIST 5900, HIST 5901, HIST 5905; ANTH 4650; ARTD 4920).

Twelve of these credits must be completed at Brooklyn College. Up to four credits from the student's major may be applied toward the requirements of the minor in Museum and Cultural Organizations. The Minor Coordinator, with the approval of the minor's curriculum committee, may allow substitutions for one or more of these requirements consistent with the educational goals of the minor. Students must complete the minor with a grade of C- or higher in each course.
