Pedagogical Achievements
Compiled "Selected Works of Classical Chinese Philosophy and Literature", Aug. 1. 2011
Initiated the Core Curriculum course 1110, Classic Culture (China), in Brooklyn College in 2009. It was the first time that a course of similar nature in non-European culture was introduced to the Core Curriculum since its establishment decades ago. Though it is a lower-tier course in the Core Curriculum, teaching CORC 1110 (China) demands that the instructor possess abundant knowledge of classic Chinese culture. The time framework of the teaching materials spans from 1056 BCE to the mid-17th century. To achieve effective teaching, the instructor should be a generalist of Chinese philosophy, literature and history. CORC 1110 (China) has been a popular course among students since its commencement, and students are demanding opening more sessions. 2011
Compiled the text of A Brief History of Classic Chinese Philosophy. 2008
Compiled the texts of Selected Works of Modern Chinese Literature, 1917-1949 and Selected Works of Modern Chinese Literature, 1949-2000. 2007
Compiled the text of Selected Works of Classic Chinese Literature. 2006
