A Message from Monique
Welcome to our CUNY EDGE monthly newsletter,
We have lots of good news to share.
First, our congratulations go out to the students who received an Academic Incentive Award for the fall 2017 semester. Look out for the criteria to be considered for an award in spring 2018.
For any of our incentives, including summer scholarships, students need to be actively engaged in the CUNY EDGE program, which means attending workshops and advising sessions, keeping attendance high and reporting any absences, working on your career goals and internships, and staying engaged all year.
It was lovely to see so many of you at our welcome back event on February 6, and we hope to meet with each of you before the end of the semester.
We are also delighted to welcome Roberte Lescouflair, our new part-time adviser. She will be in the office from Monday to Thursday, and you can make an appointment to meet with her via BC WebCentral. If you haven't tried it yet, you should sign up for our upcoming CUNY EDGE workshops in April in the portal as well. We will have workshops on scholarships, study skills, stress, and text anxiety. Sign up now, as space is limited.
You may also download the new HRA Access App from the App Store or Google Play. This should allow you to keep track of your case status and any appointments. Last but not least, we have been placing students in many departments and some community projects through the HRA work-study program. This can be a really valuable work experience to add to your résumé. We hope that you will take to opportunity to build your résumés with the tools on the Magner Career Center Website.
Hope to see you soon!
