Constantin Crânganu has been full professor of geology at Brooklyn College since 2008. Previously, he served the College as assistant professor (2001-02), associate professor (2002-08) and tenured associate professor (2005).

Prior to joining the College, he had appointments at the University of Oklahoma as research scientist (1999-2001) and as assistant director (1998-99) and research scientist 1997-98), Institute of Exploration and Development Geosciences. While earning his Ph.D., he was a teaching assistant at the University of Oklahoma. He was Fulbright visiting scientist, University of Oklahoma (1993-94); lecturer of geophysics, "Al. I. Cuza" University Iasi, Romania (1981-93); and geotechnical engineer, Administrative Authority of Vaslui County, Romania (1976-81). He received a Fulbright Fellowship in 1993.
