Education:
Ph.D., Hebrew University of Israel - 1969 (Physical Chemistry)
M.Sc., Hebrew University - 1963 (Physical Chemistry)
Areas of Expertise:
Environmental issues, science and society, photoelectrochemistry, electrochemistry, physics and chemistry of solid-liquid interfaces, morphology and transport properties of composite media, solar energy conversion and storage, photovoltaic devices, batteries.
Doctoral Rotation Projects:
Students will learn how to do energy audits and carbon footprints on a variety of scales. Students will do longitudal studies on the various components of the global efforts to change energy sources from reliance on fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. In doing so, students will investigate ways to quantify global environmental impacts and apply the scientific method on issues that traditionally are outside the scope of science. Students are finding themselves wondering if in doing so they are doing physics. They soon realize that, whatever the label, the work is important, researchable and publishable, and requires the set of skills on which they were trained.
