This course presents common metabolic pathways and introduces reaction mechanisms and regulation of principal biochemical pathways. The course addresses the biochemistry of metabolic disorders with clinical implications. Special topics include photosynthesis, iron homeostasis, nitric oxide, and molecular biology. (Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed Chemistry 4580 .)
Prerequisite: Chemistry 4570  or 4571 [57.1].
