Franco has been professor since 1973 and was associate professor (1969-72). He completed his thesis under Nobel Laureate Roy Glauber and postdoctoral research at MIT, UC-Berkeley (LBL) and LANL (1963-69). He was elected APS fellow (1973). He was foreign collaborator, CEN Saclay (1975-76, summer 1986); senior research associate, Harvard (1983-84); guest scientist, LANL (August 1971), LBL (summer 1974) and ICTP (Trieste) (June 1971; August 1975); visiting staff member, LANL (1969-75); visiting scientist, U of Trondheim (June 1980), U of Alberta (summer 1982) and Inst Theoretische Kernphysik, U of Karlsruhe (summer 1985); NAS exchange scholar, Inst of High Energy Physics, Beijing, summer 1984; and guest lecturer, The New School (1988, 1989). His peer-reviewed papers, including three with Glauber, have appeared in over 35 issues of Physical Review and 15 of PRL. He has presented invited seminars and colloquia at over 40 institutions, including 14 in Canada, Europe and Asia.
